GENERAL TERMS
• I reserve the right to reject a commission for any reason (personal or professional). I am not obligated to disclose this reason to anyone.
• I require payment up front before I begin work on your piece. Online payments must be made through PayPal or direct card payment. Confirmation of your understanding of my Terms of Service and what your commission includes may be required via email.
• I require reference material for all commission types. I will take whatever you're able to provide me, as long as it's clear! I recommend filling out one of many freely available linework bases OR a simple doodle. It doesn't need to be "good"!
• If you are unable or unwilling to provide reference material, I will charge a $80 flat fee with the expectation that I will need to make more revisions than average. You are not entitled to unlimited revisions, and this fee allows for a maximum of 4. Additional revisions will incur a charge of $15/per.
• I reserve the right to use your commissioned piece as an example of my most up-to-date work. If you do not want your piece used as an example or posted otherwise, please inform me beforehand! This will not effect whether or not I choose to accept your commission request.
• Commissions are completed in the order in which they are paid for. Outstanding work in my queue ahead of yours will impact how long your piece will take. My queue can be found here.
• I am not a speedy artist. Average turn-around time is ~3 weeks depending on my commission queue, and real life responsibilities. The longer the queue is, the longer your piece may take to complete. I will contact you as frequently as possible with relevant updates to your piece. I appreciate your understanding!
• Working hours are generally unscheduled, but I will not be available before 12PM and after 10PM Central Time. Please keep in mind that artwork is not my only work!
EDITS, ERRORS, AND CHANGES TO COMMISSIONS
• You will be sent a sketch of your piece before major linework and coloring is started. You are expected to request all major changes in the sketch stage. Later alterations require much more work, and will incur additional fees.
• I do not offer unlimited revisions. Please be ready with a clear concept for your piece! In the sketch stage, I will allow for 2 major revisions (without totally redrawing a piece) before I will begin to charge per each revision. Additional alterations will come at a charge of $15 per revision.
• Revision requests after linework has been started will be rejected. Please assure ALL of your revisions are addressed before I begin your piece's linework!
• I am more than happy to add extras to a piece at any time (headshot/icon edits, extra views, etc) for a fee based on complexity.
• Errors on my end (incorrect markings, wrong number of toes, etc) will be corrected with no fee, regardless of the stage the commission is in.
REFUND POLICY
• Refund requests for commission work are not accepted under any circumstances. Please be certain that you would like to commission me before providing payment.
SHIPPING OF PHYSICAL ITEMS
• For most badges, shipping within the United States of America is included in the base price (this is referred to as a "domestic" parcel).
• ANY shipping outside of the USA will be subject to an additional fee. Postage rates are changing all the time, but I generally charge the following:
Canada: $9.00 USD
Europe, Australia, Asia: $15.00 USD
• If you do not inform me ahead of time that international shipping will be needed, I will send an invoice for the required postage. If you did not read my ToS as was required (ex: "I didn't see that!" or "I didn't know!"), or do not want to pay for shipping, I will not ship the physical copy of your piece. You will not be refunded.
• I am no longer letting these incidences slide. When an international commissioner doesn't pay shipping, it comes directly out of my pocket when it should've been part of the price of their commission. I have unfortunately lost too much money I should've been paid due to this.
LICENSING AND SELLING MY WORK COMMERCIALLY
• I am happy to arrange a commercial contract for you to obtain the rights to sell my artwork! The price you pay when you commission me is solely for my time, and for personal use of the artwork provided.
• I offer a flat fee to obtain commercial rights. The fee will be dependent on the intended use of the artwork, amount of profit you expect to earn, projected distribution, and more. For a baseline, please anticipate 150-200% the cost of the artwork itself-- however this is not guaranteed. I'm happy to discuss this with you at any time should you decide you'd like to sell my work for profit.
• I do have experience in print media and merchandise production, so I may also be able to facilitate the manufacturing you're considering. Feel free to contact me about this!
• If you would like to collaborate on a concept with the intent of the profits being donated to a worthy charity, this fee may be waved (but contract still expected).
• You will be required to sign a contract agreeing to the fee itself, and the terms and conditions of selling my work. I expect to be credited on all sales postings including my work.
• No work by Starpup Studio may be used in any blockchain-related technology. This includes NFTs, cryptocurrency, and related future technologies
